Join Us in Supporting the Relief Effort

San Diego Democrats are expressing support and concern for all those who have been affected by the wildfires this week. The displacement and loss have been felt by countless San Diegans, including many members of our extended Democratic family.

At times like this, when the skies literally darken, community spirit and service are most important. We?re proud that the community has shown its best, from the public safety personnel working to keep us safe to the many individuals and organizations participating in the relief effort.
We encourage you to join the effort if you haven?t already. Our County Party has already been contacted by friends around the state and country asking what they can do. Here are several easy ways to help:

* DONATE FOOD AND HOUSEHOLD GOODS. We?re collecting items at our Headquarters that we will distribute through local relief organizations. Examples of nonperishable, regular-size items in demand include canned meat, fruits, vegetables, and juices as well as cleaning supplies, diapers, detergent, and personal hygiene products. These can be dropped off during business hours at our office at 8304 Clairemont Mesa Blvd., Suite 108, in San Diego (92111). To make arrangements after-hours or in other locations around the county, contact us at [address removed] or (858) 277-3367.

* DONATE GROCERY GIFT CARDS. We can also accept gift cards from major grocery chains such as Ralphs, Vons, and Albertsons. Those should be sent to ?San Diego Democrats? at 8304 Clairemont Mesa Blvd., Suite 108, San Diego, CA 92111. Gift cards will be used to purchase items for those in need.

* GIVE THROUGH A ?VIRTUAL FOOD BANK.? You can give online to purchase specific items at the San Diego Food Bank. Just go to http://vad.aidmatrix.org/vfd.cfm?driveid=95 and follow the steps indicated. When you?re checking out, enter ?SD Dems? in the Phone Number field so we can recognize your support.

For safety and recovery information, please visit http://www.sdcountyemergency.com/ or call the Fire Info Line at (619) 570-1070.

To prevent mailbox filters from deleting messages from us, please add [address removed] to your address book. Paid for by the San Diego County Democratic Party, www.sddemocrats.org. Not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee.
