Volunteers Needed!Monday, May 21,4PM UCSD RIMAC Arena, AL GORE Event to collect signatures for "Draft Gore For President in 2008" Petition! An exciting and challenging opportunity to re-elect Al Gore in 2008. email Ben Cooper: [address removed]

Info on Draft Gore for President:

Our group has been pretty active over the past month collecting petition signatures (asking Al Gore to please run for President) at We started two local Draft Gore groups in late February 2007. These two groups have come together and meet monthly at Twiggs. San Diegans for Gore in 2008 has 15 registered members at algore.org and 11 registered members at meetup.com.the EarthFair, the convention and the Anti-Veto MoveOn event. Time Magazine stated this week that we have collected almost 150,000 signatures nationwide. The upcoming Al Gore event at UCSD offers an excellent opportunity to collect more signatures. The event begins at 5:30 PM. We will begin collecting signatures at 4 PM and resume after the event ends at 7 PM. Our meeting point is just east of the main entrance of the UCSD RIMAC Arena, in the walkway. We?ll be wearing Gore T-shirts and buttons (security is not allowing anyone to have tables or stands). We deeply want Gore to run. We believe he is the best thing that could happen to America in several decades. We need to push him (or pull him) in. We need to appeal to everyone who would support a Gore candidacy to get involved now. We need to truly join together in a movement of people taking action (and making sacrifice) to raise awareness of who he is, how he's changed and how important it is for him to be the next president. Nationally, we need to dramatically expand our members and the number of local groups. We need to get his name on primary ballots across the nation. We need to act like we've never acted before...as if our life depends on it. Complacency has gotten us, as a country, where we are today. Each one of us shares in that responsibility. Each one of us is responsible to change our direction...starting with Drafting Gore.
