DFW Dog Days 🐾☀️

Looking for some dog friends for your pup—or just an excuse to get out of the house and meet other dog people? This group is for casual, fun doggy playdates and adventures around the DFW area!

We’ll meet at places like Lake Park’s dog swimming beach, NorthBark Dog Park, Ridgepointe Park, other off-leash parks, trails, and dog-friendly spots around DFW. Meetups might include swimming days, park playdates, walks, puppy meetups, and other dog-friendly outings.

All breeds and sizes are welcome! Whether you have a giant breed, a tiny pup, a high-energy dog who wants to run, or a laid-back dog who just likes hanging out, there’s a place for you here.

The goal is simple: happy dogs, new friends, and fun things to do together. 🐶💦

Please make sure your dog is appropriately vaccinated, healthy, and comfortable in the type of environment listed for each meetup. Owners are responsible for supervising their own dogs and respecting other dogs’ boundaries.

## PARTICIPATION WAIVER, RELEASE OF LIABILITY & ASSUMPTION OF RISK

By joining DFW Doggy Playdates and/or attending any DFW Doggy Playdates event, meetup, outing, or activity, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

### ASSUMPTION OF RISK

I understand that participating in activities involving dogs carries inherent and unpredictable risks. These risks may include, but are not limited to, dog bites, scratches, fights, falls, collisions, injuries to people or animals, illness or disease transmission, drowning or water-related injuries, lost or escaped animals, allergic reactions, property damage, and other foreseeable or unforeseeable injuries or losses.
I voluntarily choose to participate in DFW Doggy Playdates activities with knowledge of these risks and voluntarily assume the risks associated with my participation and the participation of my dog(s).

### RESPONSIBILITY FOR MY DOG

I understand that I am solely responsible for the supervision, handling, behavior, health, safety, and control of my dog(s).
I am responsible for determining whether my dog is physically and behaviorally appropriate for each activity. I agree to comply with applicable laws and the rules of any park, business, property, or other venue where an event takes place.
I understand that DFW Doggy Playdates and its organizer(s) do not evaluate or guarantee the temperament, behavior, training, vaccination status, health, or suitability of any dog attending an event.

### RELEASE OF LIABILITY

I UNDERSTAND AND EXPRESSLY AGREE THAT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY TEXAS LAW, I RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS DFW DOGGY PLAYDATES AND ITS ORGANIZER(S), EVENT HOSTS, VOLUNTEERS, AND REPRESENTATIVES FROM CLAIMS FOR PERSONAL INJURY, INJURY TO OR LOSS OF AN ANIMAL, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR OTHER LOSS ARISING FROM MY PARTICIPATION IN A DFW DOGGY PLAYDATES ACTIVITY, INCLUDING CLAIMS ARISING FROM THE ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE OF DFW DOGGY PLAYDATES OR ITS ORGANIZER(S), EVENT HOSTS, VOLUNTEERS, OR REPRESENTATIVES.
I understand that this release is intended to include claims based on the ordinary negligence of the released parties to the extent such claims may lawfully be released under Texas law.

### OTHER PARTICIPANTS AND DOGS

I understand that dogs are animals whose behavior can be unpredictable, even when they have no known history of aggression.
I accept responsibility for deciding whether I and my dog(s) should interact with another participant or dog. I understand that the organizer cannot guarantee that another attendee will follow group rules or accurately disclose their dog's health, vaccination status, temperament, or behavioral history.

### INJURY, DAMAGE, AND VETERINARY EXPENSES

I accept responsibility for injuries, damages, or expenses resulting from the actions of myself or my dog(s), subject to applicable law.
I understand that I am responsible for veterinary care for my own dog and for making decisions regarding my dog's medical treatment.

### GUESTS AND MINORS

If I bring a guest, I understand that the guest should review and agree to the applicable participation requirements before participating.
If I bring a minor, I represent that I am the minor's parent, legal guardian, or otherwise have appropriate authority to supervise the minor, and I accept responsibility for supervising the minor throughout the activity.

### VOLUNTARY PARTICIPATION

Participation in DFW Doggy Playdates is completely voluntary. I may choose not to participate in an activity or may leave an activity at any time.
By requesting membership, remaining a member, RSVP'ing to an event, or attending a DFW Doggy Playdates activity, I acknowledge that I have read and understand this waiver and assumption of risk.
Required acknowledgment:
☐ I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE DFW DOGGY PLAYDATES PARTICIPATION WAIVER, RELEASE OF LIABILITY, AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK. I VOLUNTARILY AGREE TO ITS TERMS AND UNDERSTAND THAT I AM GIVING UP CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING CERTAIN RIGHTS TO BRING CLAIMS BASED ON ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE.
