It's time to start planning for the next DFW Retrocomputing Meetup! This one is once again hosted at the usual Dallas Makerspace location, as we continue to explore other venues.

If you have something to bring for show and tell, please do! It can be something new, or something you already brought before. There will be tables and extension cords for exhibits. Or, just bring yourself!

In order to accommodate timing for the lightning talk portion, the meetup is starting at 2:30 p.m., and ends at 6:30 p.m. Setup may begin at 2:00pm, and breakdown is allowed until 7:00 pm.

The classroom series is scheduled to start at 3:30 in the lecture hall, and will last until 4:30 pm.

The talk schedule may change, as we may have a guest speaker from out of town. At the moment the schedule is:

  • 3:30-4:00pm - Stephen Wylie: "A modern application of the world's oldest microcontroller"
  • 4:00-4:30pm - Thomas Cherryholmes: "Fujinet"
  • 4:30-5:00pm - (optional) Open Mic

Suggested Topics for Open Mic:
- A brief introduction.
- A Current project
- A quick How to tutorial
- Historical notes, from personal experience or research

If you are interested in giving a lightning presentation at any future event, please contact me with your name, topic, and how many minutes you will take.

As on prior meetups, we will continue to have a swap/sale/givaway table. Labels will be available to mark your items.

Last time, we had members stationed at the front door letting folks in, ensuring everyone signs the waiver, and directing folks to the meetup. That worked out very well. If any DMS member would like to volunteer to split this duty, let me know.

As always, please RSVP so we know how much Pizza to bring.
