Social media and search used to be very different parts of the same team. Search marketers could focus on page content and links while social media practitioners could cultivate conversations off site on Twitter or Facebook. Search was private and personal. Social was the opposite.

Gradually search and social came closer to one another. Search looked to quantify the SEO impact of links shared on social media and keywords research began to influence social media to aid in discovery. It was clear that the two worlds would collide, sooner rather than later.

The big bang of search and social has happened.

Google launched Google+ and has watched it grow with a furious pace. Bing integrates Facebook shares into it’s search results. Google has launched Search plus your world. The search landscape is now dotted with the faces of your friends and connections. Search marketers who ignore social are unlikely to be search marketers for long.

Join us on Feb 15th to tackle the important impact of the merger of search and social. Don’t get left behind as the private world of search becomes increasingly social.

Our panel will feature three esteemed social media pros. Kendall Schiffler from LowerOaklawn and Design by Kendall will join Eddy Badrina of BuzzShift and social media smarty-pants Giovanni Gallucci. In Twitter-eze the panel is @KendallAnne (http://www.twitter.com/KendallAnne) @eddybadrina (http://www.twitter.com/eddybadrina) and @giovanni (http://www.twitter.com/giovanni).
