Cost: There is an admission fee to enter the State Fair of Texas, which each attendee will need to pay for separately, on their own.
Adult “Daily Admission Tickets” for Sunday, October 8 are $25.00. There are reduced prices for seniors, children, and some entities offer discount codes. To reduce wait time in lines, if you’re joining our group we recommend purchasing your ticket(s) online in advance via the link below.

Before the Event: The gates open at 10:00 am. Please arrive to the area early (9:45 am?) and allow plenty of time for traffic, parking, purchase tickets (if you didn’t buy them beforehand), get through the gate, and make your way to our “Big Tex” meeting point by 10:30 am. There are several different entrance gates if you arrive by car and there are also various public transportation options such as the DART Fair Park Station.
Meeting Point: We’ll meet at “Big Tex” (55-foot tall cowboy figure) inside the park (3921 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd), and a short walk from the Cotton Bowl Stadium. Look for your host Robert (tall with a blue jacket) along with a group of friendly people with name tag stickers.
Icebreaker Introductions: We should have a good-sized group. To get to know each other we’ll distribute blank white stickers and colored markers and we’ll ask everyone to write down on their sticker: 1). first name. 2). favorite food. 3). dream vacation. Example: “Robert - Chocolate - Japan” or “Michele - Strawberries - Kenya”.
Itinerary:
10:00 am - State Fair Park gates open.
10:30 am - 10:45 am Meet at “Big Tex”, hand out name tag stickers, socialize, etc.
10:45 am (approximately) - We'll walk through the state fair park together as a group, for approximately 2 hours. You are free to come and go as you please.
