Volunteer Day at LLELA: Tree Clearing & Conservation Effort

Details
Roll up your sleeves and help us make a difference! Join DFW Young & Social in partnership with Friends of LLELA for a hands-on volunteer morning dedicated to clearing overgrown wooded areas. We’ll be using manual tools (and a few chainsaws) to remove unwanted trees and brush, piling them up for a giant control bonfire (if weather allows!).
This effort will help prep the area for future wildflower planting and support the health of the preserve’s ecosystems.
Important Info:
- We start at 9:00 AM sharp. Please arrive on time at the LLELA Visitor Center parking area.
- This is physical outdoor work. You’ll get dirty, sweaty, and leave with the satisfaction of a job well done!
What to Bring:
- Water (we’ll bring cases, but bring extra if you can!)
- Bug spray
- Hiking boots or thick-soled work shoes
- Long pants (NOT yoga pants)
- Long-sleeve shirt
- Hat & sunscreen
- Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty or torn
- Hair ties (if you have long hair)
- Leather work gloves (Friends of LLELA will have some extras, but sizes may vary)
This is a great chance to connect with others, give back to the local environment, and be part of something that makes a lasting impact.
This event is part of our ongoing monthly effort to support Friends of LLELA and their nature conservation work.
