What we’re about
The Center is based on the Tibetan Buddhist lineage. We are part of the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT), an international family of city and retreat centers, monasteries, publishing houses, hospices, and healing centers that share that purpose.
The organization is run by individuals dedicated to providing an integrated educational experience through which minds and hearts can be transformed into their highest potential for the benefit of all sentient beings.
We host Buddhist teachings, guided meditations, weekly classes, and other related events.
We are located at 140 Washington Street, LL30 in Reno, Nevada.

See all- Transforming the Mind: To Cultivate Lasting HappinessDharmakaya Buddhist Center, Reno, NV
Transforming the Mind: Cultivating Lasting Happiness gradually unfolds as a journey along different topics:
- May 11th -Settling the mind and focusing attention with the breath.
- May 25th - Analytical Meditation.
- June 8th- Working with Emotions and Afflictions.
- June 22nd - A Healthy Emotional Life and Bringing the practice to daily life.
This second module deepens into meditational techniques and provides specific methods to calm the mind and work with challenging emotions and afflictions, as a first approach to cultivate mental balance. To that aim, the journey in this module starts by learning to use breathing meditation to settle the mind and to focus attention, exploring whether we choose what we pay attention to, the role of distractions, and how to decrease them in our meditation, not by forcing but by learning to relax. To that aim, the inner quality of equanimity is also presented.
