What we’re about
The Center is based on the Tibetan Buddhist lineage. We are part of the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT), an international family of city and retreat centers, monasteries, publishing houses, hospices, and healing centers that share that purpose.
The organization is run by individuals dedicated to providing an integrated educational experience through which minds and hearts can be transformed into their highest potential for the benefit of all sentient beings.
We host Buddhist teachings, guided meditations, weekly classes, and other related events.
We are located at 140 Washington Street, LL30 in Reno, Nevada.

Wise Paths to The Heart
Dharmakaya Buddhist Center, 140 Washington St suite ll30, Reno, NV, USThis module delves into warmheartedness and pro-social attitudes, with specific methods to develop them and an exploration of their importance. To that aim, the journey in this module starts by exploring whether warmheartedness is indeed a source of well-being. Research on the nature of altruism and ethics is presented, along with the biological basis of warmheartedness. Then, we explore whether it can be trained, and start doing so, with an approach to relating to others with equanimity (Unit 1).
We start by taking care of oneself, and see how this also entails taking care—or connecting—with others. The relationship between taking care of oneself and others is explored through an exercise to let go of anger and resentment (Unit 2).
November 9th: Warmheartedness as a source of well-being
November 23rd: To care for yourself, to care for others
