This module delves into warmheartedness and pro-social attitudes, with specific methods to develop them and an exploration of their importance. To that aim, the journey in this module starts by exploring whether warmheartedness is indeed a source of well-being. Research on the nature of altruism and ethics is presented, along with the biological basis of warmheartedness. Then, we explore whether it can be trained, and start doing so, with an approach to relating to others with equanimity (Unit 1).

We start by taking care of oneself, and see how this also entails taking care—or connecting—with others. The relationship between taking care of oneself and others is explored through an exercise to let go of anger and resentment (Unit 2).
