Dhrupad music is the most ancient style of Indian music. This genre of music is not just for entertainment or for mere fun. Dhrupad takes one closer to one’s heart and soul and in turn helps one directly connect to the divine, within. The transcendental aspect of this style of music separates this from other genres of music which are more towards entertainment purposes.
Our guest performer of Rudra Veena which is akin to dhrupad music is Murali Manohar Gowda, who is an exponent of Rudraveena and dhrupad vocals and belongs to the esteemed team of a very handful of highly accomplished artists of dhrupad and Rudra Veena .
