Take a retreat from the daily bustle and enjoy a fresh new combination of yoga and salsa this Saturday, August 3rd. In this workshop, we will explore how the concepts of yoga and partner dance overlap, but mostly we'll just have a really good time. We will spend the first hour in Yoga practice with Julia Rix preparing our bodies and our minds to learn Salsa Rueda, with Kendra Murray. The next hour will be spent learning and practicing Salsa Rueda movements in the circle.
Salsa Rueda is a Cuban style of social Salsa dancing in which very simple to complex movements are called out and all couples dance in a circular formation, the same movements at the same time. Partners are then passed to the next dancer when the caller calls a new movement.
This will be a high energy class, no experience or knowledge in dance or yoga necessary. Feel free to bring a partner, but no partner is necessary as we can pair you up when you get here.
