What is opinion, vs. fact or truth?

First meeting in quite a while. A question came to me recently when I was listening to someone speaking. That question was "is that your opinion or is that the truth?". I then looked at something that I had recently said and asked myself when saying it was I presenting it as my opinion? or as if it was a fact or the truth?

For me this essential to be aware or clear on this. People many times when presenting their narrative (particularly in Politics or Religion or the like) seem to be stating things as if they are fact and or the truth. I would like to get others point of view on this and see if we can look at this very important human experience of stating what we believe, or what we see as important and how is it that we are holding it. That is do we present it as the truth, as fact or as our opinion.

The group has not met in a while. I had to do alot of inner looking to see what to do with regard to numerous challenges relating to dialogue and experience. Anyway. I have gained I think a bit more understanding about certain things and about what the group from my perspective is about. I hope you can join if you are so moved. Thank you.
