Does The Argument From Miracles Succeed?

A number of theistic faiths claim that miracles have occurred. What’s more, it is not uncommon to hear that such events provide evidence for theological claims, beginning with the existence of God. Yet some well-known thinkers have said (or have been interpreted as saying) either 1) that miracles cannot occur or 2) that, even if miracles did occur, they still wouldn’t provide evidence of the supernatural, at least not for most people. In this session, we will introduce a version of the argument from miracles. We will then seek to consider in what sense this argument does or might succeed, and what the best objections to it might look like.
A speaker will present for about 30 minutes, and then anyone can ask questions or make comments for another 40 minutes or so. We welcome friendly disagreement!
