Expert Exchange & Afterwork hangout

Expert Exchange is a regular meetup for discussing advanced technical topics hosted by Cloudflight. It will take place in our Linz and Vienna office!

We first listen to a talk – either live or recorded and then start a discussion under a guidance of an experienced moderator.

After the discussion round we plan an unofficial gathering at our office. Anyone interested in Cloudflight and who wants to have a chat with us is invited to join us!

The topic of this month is:
How the tech giants test the code and what we can learn from them

• Have you ever asked yourself what the most important aspect of the testing process is? Why test in the first place? The natural, somewhat naïve answer would be: “to catch bugs” or “to improve the quality of software”. But is that enough?
• Feedback loop, code coverage, number of test cases — what’s the most important thing to keep in mind? How can we break tests into smaller, more targeted suites? Let’s take a look at how Google and Facebook approach the most common testing activities, what we can learn from them and perhaps more importantly – what not.
• After watching an engaging tech talk that will usher us into the testing world of the largest tech companies, we will dive into discussion and exchange our ideas.
