For marketing to really have an impact for your organisation, it needs to work towards achieve the overarching corporate goals. Find out what you need to create a marketing strategy, how to make it have impact and how to avoid the falling into the tactical marketing trap.
WHAT’S IN THE COURSE?
This course will give you a framework to develop a marketing strategy that will help unify your marketing activity and help you deliver campaigns that tie in with the overall corporate objectives. You’ll have a repeatable tool that you can use over and over again.
You’ll be taken through how to use the framework and will start to create the outline of the marketing strategy for your organisation. You’ll know where to look for more data to help inform the strategic development process and some key questions to ask along the way.
WHO’S THIS FOR?
This course is ideal for marketers from a traditional or digital background who want to create a marketing strategy. It’s also suitable for senior leaders in a business with responsibility for creating a marketing strategy.
What is important is that you have a good understanding of the organisation you work in and their objectives.
COURSE OUTLINE
After completing this course, participants will be able to effectively use a framework to develop a marketing strategy with impact.
You’ll notice it we’re talking about a marketing strategy, not a digital marketing strategy. During the course you’ll understand why that distinction isn’t helpful and find out when to start look at marketing channels.
MODULE 1 - DSI Framework
An introduction the DSI Framework – Data, Strategy and Implementation. We will look at how the framework was developed and how to use it effectively.
MODULE 2 - Company & Customer
Understanding why anyone why anyone will buy your product or service and who your ideal customers is are the cornerstones of a great marketing strategy. Module 2 will take up around half of the programme but is worth committing the time to.
MODULE 3 - Competition & Context
Using a series of simple models, we run through competitor analysis to see how things are done in your industry and work out where you can stand out.
MODULE 4 - Competence & Content
Marketing strategies live or die by the people who implement them, so it’s crucial to look at what skills you have or can access. And then we can start to plan content calendars and look at how you come up with content ideas.
MODULE 5 - Capital
Working out what it’s worth if you get it right, understanding what to invest in marketing and what metrics you need to look at to know you’re on the right track.
MODULE 6 - Implementation
Knowing what steps to take once you have your strategy can be the difference between success and failure – a great document means nothing unless it is implemented properly.
ABOUT YOUR TRAINER
Andi Jarvis is the Founder and Strategy Director of Eximo Marketing. He is a marketing strategist, trainer and keynote speaker with over 22 years’ experience and holds an MSc in Marketing and the Mini MBA in Marketing.
In recent years he has worked with clients such as Hallmark Cards, BYD, Leasing Options and SDG on their marketing. He is also an international conference speaker, guest lecturer at Liverpool John Moores University and Vaasa University in Finland and the host of the Strategy Sessions podcast.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations up to 3 working days before the event will be fully refunded minus a £10 administration fee. Those who wish to cancel less than 3 working days before the event will incur a fee of £150.
