What we’re about
Digital People in Peterborough (or DPiP for short) is a fairly informal effort to help introduce people working in digital to each other, concentrating on Peterborough UK and the surrounding areas of Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire etc.
Everyone is welcome and the "Peterborough" bit is simply to indicate that’s where the pub/venue will be.
It’s open to anyone working in digital whether you’re employed by a large company, freelancing, or founding your own start-up. And all disciplines are welcomed and encouraged whether you work in development, design, creating content, marketing, databases, security, systems administration or something else we haven’t thought of yet!

So I went to a meetup this one time...We never know the impact of one small action in our lives, but we might feel the effects of the value it creates for years to come. In this session I will tell you the story of one small action - going to a meetup one time - and where it led, to demonstrate a new way of thinking about value and value creation in the decisions that we make. That when we invest in ourselves and in our communities, it can change our lives in absolutely unexpected ways.
By the end of this session you will have learned about the Value Creation model created by Bev and Etienne Wenger-Trayner, how you can use it to find and articulate the value in tasks that don't have an immediate obvious benefit, and with any luck will have heard a fun story about how taking one small step can make a massive difference in our lives.
