Digital People in Peterborough (DPiP) - July 2022

Welcome back DPiPers!

This month we take a glimpse at the future, discovering recent advances in machine learning and discussing what this could mean for us living surrounded by technology.

This month's speaker: Ian Tennant PhD

Ian Tennant PhD, has over 20 years’ experience working in the field of human and environmental health. His early career included post-doctoral research at the Medical Research Council Centre for Inflammation Research based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

He went on to work on regional and national environmental initiatives and trained as a manual therapist and health coach. These days he works face-to-face with people, helping them make simple choices that are inexpensive and improve their health and is also involved in academic research on body awareness.

He recently collaborated with other DPiP members to set up the Futurus Project: an NFT exhibition based around the theme: ‘What does a future of humane and nature-friendly technology look like?’. Ian is the author of Restoring Balance: A Guide to the Evolving Field of Human Wellbeing.

DPiP is now held at the fantastic, new Bewiched Fletton Quays and a short walk from Cathedral Square. Find us at Sand Martin House, Bittern Way, Peterborough PE2 8TY.
There's plenty of parking available at the multi-story carpark as you approach Bewiched or if you continue along Bittern Way you'll come to the Railway Siding Car Park.
