In case you hadn't already realised, this month's DPiP is on Star Wars Day (aka May the Fourth). Our speaker this month has kindly incorporated a touch of Star Wars into his talk and we didn't even need to Force him! Not only that, we're welcoming back Richard Jones from Peterborough-based Saber Skills with a lightsaber fight demonstration.

As always Bewiched are on hand to look after all your beverage needs (and awesome cakes), with some light snacks provided by The Banyan Tree.

This month's speaker: Ian Tennant - Thrive and Enjoy

In this talk, Ian will examine the psychological mechanisms that underlie attention and the ways in which AI algorithms use these mechanisms to capture and hold our attention.
We will also discuss the implications of this phenomenon for human wellbeing, including the potential for addiction, depression, and anxiety.

By the end of the talk, attendees will have a deeper understanding of the complex relationship between AI, attention, and human vulnerabilities, and the steps that can be taken to mitigate the negative impact of this exploitation on society.

DPiP is now held at the fantastic, new Bewiched Fletton Quays and a short walk from Cathedral Square. Find us at Sand Martin House, Bittern Way, Peterborough PE2 8TY.
There's plenty of parking available at the multi-story carpark as you approach Bewiched or if you continue along Bittern Way you'll come to the Railway Siding Car Park.
