People talk about how important and beneficial authenticity and the willingness to discover yourselve is.
Yet, it might take courage and patience to explore the specific believes and biases that hold us back.

I think that in the context of corporate job functions, people in “marketing” have a significant advantage. They carry and apply an understanding that is not only fundamental in performing their role, but also key in supporting the process of self-discovery.

I would like to unveil what that understanding is by contrasting it with an opposing mindset that I am very familiar with.

Erik Braun

Erik’s career in the tech industry spans close to two decades, during which he has taken on various roles, predominantly as a business consultant. His journey through the fast-paced world of technology provided him with a front-row seat to the dynamics of organisational behaviour, where he repeatedly observed a recurring trend: the tendency of organisations to resist meaningful change, favouring instead superficial or “cosmetic” adjustments. Despite the lofty ambitions that often marked the beginning of projects, the outcomes frequently felt like mere imitations of past efforts—glorified replicas rather than true innovations.
