This Meetup will focus on container orchestration using Docker & Kubernetes.

Agenda:

10 AM - 11 AM: Building and Deploying applications faster with Docker and Kubernetes (Saurabh Gupta, Senior Developer Advocate, DigitalOcean)

Docker and Kubernetes together as container orchestration technologies are currently the most popular tools available for developers. This session is a hands-on deep dive into how you can use these tools to deploy your applications faster.

Key topics that will be covered are:

• Best practices for writing a Dockerfile
• Security with Docker
• Scheduling Kubernetes Pods
• Autoscaling & Healthchecks in Kubernetes
• Using Stateful Sets in Kubernetes

We will also cover a quick introduction to Docker & Kubernetes for beginners. This will be a demo-oriented session meant for developers & DevOps engineers of all skill levels.

11 AM - 12 noon: Building the Cloud: Engineering & DevOps at DigitalOcean (Anand Vyas, Software Engineer, DigitalOcean)

In this session, Anand Vyas, a Software Engineer on the Networking team at DigitalOcean, gives an insight into the behind-the-scenes of how the DigitalOcean cloud is engineered and shares some key insights that all developers & teams can adopt in their projects as well.
