American Dinner: Firefly Grill!

While it's certainly true that I enjoy ethnic cuisine - and let's face it, the majority of my dinners here are one ethnic cuisine or another - there is still something to be said about some good old American food, especially when it's done well. A relative newcomer to west county is Firefly Grill, located in the former Wildhorse Grill space on Long Road. I looked at their menu online and though it looked great, so I had to check them out. Finding their food and service to be excellent, I decided a dinner with the group was the next step!

Cuisine - Firefly Grill is just about as American as it gets. You're not going to find any massive surprises here; instead you'll just find lots of great dishes that you probably recognize or have had before and probably enjoyed. Appetizers run the gamut from loaded fries and roasted brussels sprouts to shrimp and grits and chicken strips and wings. You have a choice of several soups and salads, a great selection of flatbreads and sandwiches, and some outstanding entrees. The entrees range from filet mignon and strip steaks, salmon and mahi mahi, and pork chops, to chicken alfredo and parmesan, and a couple of pastas. The main thing, of course, is that everything I've tried has been excellent! (The salmon, mahi, and chicken parm were especially good.) Again, nothing really surprising here, just great American classics done really well. And sometimes that's just exactly what hits the spot!

Cost - Considering that this is a new restaurant in Chesterfield, I think Firefly does a great job of keeping their prices reasonable. Appetizers are in the low teens, flatbreads and sandwiches are all in the teens, and the entrees are generally in the twenties with only the steaks topping that. Not cheap, for sure, but for my money, entirely reasonable for an excellent dinner!

Location - Firefly Grill is located on the west side of Long Road just past Edison in Chesterfield Towne Center. It's right up against Long Road so it's easy to see. Tons of parking right out front.
