Makawao Forest Workout
Details
Welcome to a Makawao 'Workout' Hike. Time to HTFU!
Looking for an early morning workout? Maybe a hike is not enough? Then join us on this 'workout' hike where you can work your lower and upper body in one event.
The plan is to hike the 'short' Kahakapao Loop Trail, taking the steeper Pa'ahao Rd. to the top before completing the loop trail (~5.5 miles).
*Approximately every mile we will stop for angled pushups using fallen trees (much easier than traditional pushups, but still a great upper body workout)
Set your own goal for the 1 mile stops. 10 pushups? 20? Maybe you do downward dog pushups or jumping jacks, or anything else.
This should take just over 2 hours tops (so think 20-22 min mile pace).
What to Bring
Water
good footwear
Positive attidude
Aloha Spirit (duh)
This hike is may be cancelled due to rain.
*Pushups etc. are optional, so still join in even if you will save your upper body workout for another time. Maybe you workout your self-control by fighting the urge to laugh or snicker at the rest of us. ;-D
Where to Meet
Kahakapao Loop upper parking. Look for a guy in the back of a white Tacoma.
Also, I always encourage carpooling when feasible. Post up in comments and maybe we can make it happen.
I hope to see you in the parking lot at 8:50ish, ready to go at 9:00 a.m. If you are late, we will be going counter-clockwise, so double-time and catch up!
