What we’re about
The purpose of this group is to bring together developers, designers, technologists, and concerned citizens to find a way out of the walled gardens we spend most of our online lives in. We believe that for the tech giants, the internet is no longer an ecosystem, it's a zoo. It's up to us to rewild it.
The exact means and ends of this group will depend on the skills and interests of those who get involved. It could be advocacy, a tech forum, career connections, a "book club", or education. This group might be for you if you believe that:
- technology should serve humanity, not the other way around
- the current menu of networked software on offer to most people most of the time not only falls short of that goal, but is actively poisoning the broader culture
- we can find a way out if we are open-minded and curious about problems and potential solutions
