Discover the Secrets of the 19th Century London Docks

Please join me for this relaxing walk packed full of history. The 19th century docks were once a bustling area of commerce and shipping. It was described as "a stupendous achievement of civil engineering".

The area is now a tranquil residential area featuring an abundance of wildlife and beautiful waterways. But there are reminders everywhere of its former glory and it has a fascinating story to tell.

During the afternoon, we'll discover the gruesome origin of a well-known firework; the battle between a boy and a tiger; the pirate problem; a genius engineer; and a riverside execution site. All this and much more!

We will finish near Wapping and Shadwell station with a visit to a riverside pub (optional).

If this is your first time, you will be made very welcome. Don't be shy!

2.00pm - Meet outside Tower Hill tube station next to CitizenM hotel
2.15pm - Start walk promptly
3.30pm – Finish walk, go to a pub (optional)
