NJ Festival of Ballooning - Saturday Morning Launch

My favorite NJ event of the year - the NJ hot air balloon festival! I know 6:30am is hella early but it is, in my opinion, the best time to go during the whole festival. It's just really beautiful to see hot air balloons take off during the morning sun. And, as you can imagine, it's not crowded. ;) You do NOT need to purchase a ticket to the festival to see the hot air balloons launch. Here's the plan:

• Meet and park at Silver Saddle Swim Club

• Walk or carpool 1.1 miles from the swim club to the Solberg-Hunterdon Airport (parking is $10 per car and pass can be reused throughout the day)

• Watch hot air balloons inflate and launch from the parking fields (special-shaped balloons usually will be inflated but do not launch in the morning)

• Breakfast at Genie's Weenies (diner food in a green shack - one of my favorite restaurants) Address: 3351 US-22 (East), Branchburg, NJ 08876

Again, you do not need to purchase a festival ticket to attend this event!
