This experience follows part of Porto’s Romantic Route, combining walking, jogging, history, nature, and hidden community spaces along the Douro, a side of the city most people never get to see.

We’ll begin slowly, allowing time to observe and explore, and then gradually transition into a relaxed jog. The idea is to move through the city with intention, mixing sightseeing with movement and stories.

We’ll meet in Ribeira, at the heart of the old city by the river. From here, we’ll walk east along the Douro, following paths full of history, layered views, and unexpected perspectives of Porto.

Along the way, we’ll stop to see the old railway line, enjoy elevated viewpoints with great city views, and pass through hidden paths that most people never notice. We’ll also walk through the heart of a local permaculture community, discovering a greener, more human side of Porto that still exists quietly along the river.

We’ll arrive at Marina do Freixo, a peaceful riverside area known for its calm atmosphere and the beautiful birds typical of this part of the Douro. It’s a natural pause point to observe, breathe, and connect with the landscape before continuing.

From the marina, we’ll start jogging through Parque Oriental da Cidade do Porto, one of Porto’s largest and least-known green spaces. This section includes some stairs, a few physical challenges, and truly beautiful viewpoints, combined with stories about how the city has evolved over time.

We’ll finish in one of Porto’s best summer spots, a place locals love and return to, but that most visitors never discover.

This route is a mix of walking and light jogging, done at an easy and social pace, with stops whenever needed to enjoy the views and the stories. You’re encouraged to join at your own rhythm and comfort level, and participation is always under your own responsibility.

If you enjoy discovering hidden nature, riverside paths, community spaces, and seeing Porto through a deeper and more local lens, this experience will surprise you.

The walk takes approximately 1 hour and the jog 40 minutes, with short breaks along the way to enjoy the landscape, take in the views, and explore the surrounding

This is an informal jog among friends. Everyone joins at their own pace and comfort level. Please note that you participate under your own responsibility, especially in case of any injury or health condition. The spirit is simple: move, enjoy, and connect.
