Bento-boxed lunch
Details
Bento is a food packed into a box-shaped container, with ingredients such as meat, fish, eggs, and vegetables. A typical bento is well-balanced and suitable for any occasion. You can find colorful and nutritious foods packed neatly in bento boxes everywhere in Japan from train stations, and theaters to convenience stores. Homemade bento is important for schoolchildren and office workers. Bento is also a centerpiece of seasonal events such as cherry blossom viewing parties. We will introduce Bento in four parts: History, Hanami-Bento, Eki-ben, and Chara-ben or Character- bento. Please enjoy one of the essential elements of Japanese culture “Bento”.
