Ahoj Discoverers!
I’d like to invite you to another relaxing canoeing trip. This time on Sázava, the most popular Czech river.
We will run a very scenic river section from Ledečko to the Sázava town, which is known for a monastery and the Kavalier glass-factory.

The trip is suitable for people who haven't canoed before as long as they can swim. You should also be somewhat physically coordinated and have patience to learn a new motor skill!

I'm NOT a certified instructor but I have taught countless people the basics of canoeing.

DIFFICULTY: Easy to Medium
(depending on the water level on the day)
About 12 km / 8 miles. There are 3 weirs* and some gentle rapids.

* A weir ('jez' in Czech) is a little dam regulating the flow of the river.

LOGISTICS
We will meet already at 7:50 AM (!) in front of the main ticket office at the Prague Main Railway Station.

We’ll be aiming to be back in Prague by 19:00. However, we will be as fast as the slowest member of our group and an unexpected delay is possible. This is a full-day event.

WHAT TO TAKE WITH YOU
• Shoes to wear in water (sandals, or you can buy special shoes for walking in water)
• Wear clothes which dry fast (NOT jeans)
• Sunscreen
• Towel and maybe some spare clothes (in case your canoe capsizes)
• Swimwear
• Bottle of water and a small snack.
• Put all your staff to a small compact bag – we will put all our belongings into water-proof barrels and they are not very large.

You need to be prepared for a possibility of the boat flipping (capsizing). Keep your phone in a waterproof case and have glasses on a string while on the river!
