Bike Historic Downtown SRQ

Details
This ride is about 8-10 miles long at speeds between 10-12 mph with frequent stops to discuss Sarasota's history. Some of the stops include the Francis Carlton apartments and 1920s homes on Palm Ave, The Sarasota Times building and FST on 1st Street, The Edwards Theater/Opera house (where Elvis played), Mira Mar apartments, , Burns Court, Burns Square, Laurel Park, the now closed Waffle Stop (where Elvis ate) and a few alleys and side streets you probably don't know.
DIRECTIONS : The address says it's Bayfront Drive, but it's actually Gulfstream Ave. We're meeting in front of the Doughboy Statue (see photo above) and it's located just south of the Main Street and Gulfstream Ave intersection. If you're headed west on Main St., turn left at Gulfstream and you're almost there. I tried to reset the map pin, so I hope it' s more accurate.A drive by before the ride is suggested if you're not familiar with the area.
We leave propmptly at 8:30, so you need to arrive at least 10 minutes early. Don't be late because I won't wait.
BRING: road ready bike (test it if you haven't ridden for a while), helmet (mandatory), water, snacks, etc.
