Experience Pinecraft Community

Pinecraft is home to Sarasota's Amish and Mennonite community. This tour is about 2 miles long and will focus on the historical and cultural aspects of the Amish and Mennonites.

The tour begins at Pinecraft Park with a short history of the origins of the two religions followed by a discussion of the early history of Pinecraft.

The walk will take us through the commercial district and residential neighborhoods. Stops include the Mennonite Tourist Church, the Amish Church, restaurants and businesses as well as residences. Snowbirds make up a large portion of this community.

We'll probably stop at some street side vendors, so bring cash if you're in the mood to buy. It's also a great opportunity to chat with the Amish and Mennonites.
