Historic Downtown Sarasota Tour

This tour focuses on the period between the late 19th Century and the roaring 20s in Sarasota. It'll cover the history from the coming of the Scotts to the boom times. Some buildings we'll look at include The Woman's Club, The Francis Carlton Apartments, The Sarasota Times building (the first newspaper in Sarasota), The Warren building, The Bijou Cafe and The Edwards Theatre, now the Sarasota Ballet. This is a two-hour walk and covers about 2 miles.

Meet in front of The Palm Avenue Parking Garage, 1289 North Palm Ave., Sarasota. There should be plenty of parking on Gulfstream Ave.
