Nature Walk in Red Bug Slough
Details
Please join me and Sarasota County Environmentalist, Liz Gandy, on Feb 13th for a walk through Red Bug Slough nature trails. We will view the enhanced butterfly garden, plus uplands and lowlands, pinelands and slough, demonstrating natural habitat. Liz will identify plants, trees, birds, and other evidence of wildlife in this urban environment.
Wear comfortable closed-toed walking shoes (due to the possibility of fire ants & poison ivy).
Bring water, insect repellent, sun hat/screen, camera/binoculars. Note: There is a restroom next to the parking area. Projected Distance: about 2 miles.
PARKING - With the expanded parking lot recently opened to the public, there should be plenty of parking available for our members. Please arrive early to check in and wear your badge. For new members, a $5 donation for the badge is appreciated. Thanks!
