Moonlight Paddle @ Turtle Beach
Details
We launch sharply at 6 pm so you need to arrive by 5:30 so you can be paddle ready on time.
You need to have 3 months of paddling experience (kayak, SUP, canoe, etc.) and have your own boat. It may be possible to rent from one of the vendors at Turtle Beach, but you'd have to make those arrangements. I can't help you with that.
As we'll returning after sunset, you must bring a light. It could be a headlamp, flashlight, lantern, whatever, but it's required for this paddle.
We will paddle for about 90 minutes, then stop at the sandbar across from Midnight Pass to eat dinner and watch the sunset.
There's a low tide at 7:33 pm and sunset is 8:11 pm. I hope the outgoing tide shouldn't be too strong near Midnight Pass.
BRING: Kayak/SUP, PFD and whistle (mandatory), light(also mandatory), water, food, bugspray, etc.
DIRECTIONS: When you turn right onto Turtle Beach Rd. from Midnight Pass Rd., take the first left into the parking lot and drive to the kayak launch, which is on your left. Don't continue driving to the end of Turtle Beach Rd or you'll miss it.
