South Lido Beach Walk

This walk will cover about 1.5 miles and will start at the public bathrooms with a short history of the area,then we walk to Big Pass, walk to the Gulf, then head into the wooded area of South Lido. It will combine history of the area along with beach science.

Some of the topics covered will be seashell and seagrass identification, issues with Big Pass, erosion and beach re-nourishment, the health of our bays, red tide, plant and animal identification.

This beach is always changing, so if you haven't visited for a while, it may look much different from your last visit.

BRING: water, sunscreen, bug repellent and wear clothes that you don't mind getting wet.
