What we’re about

This MeetUp group seeks to unify interdisciplinary efforts to fight "hybrid threats" that are Disinformation and Corruption.

Disinformation (false information disseminated to cause harm) takes many forms, e.g., fake news, audio-video impersonations, data falsification, etc. It is linked to corruption and fraud allegations against elected officials, which once disambiguated (true or false) will require either way immediate action to preserve democracy.

An integrated strategy to fighting disinformation and corruption is necessary, requiring constant vigilance, due diligence, and collaboration in open-source intelligence (OSINT).

This is the mission of Disinformation Applications Lab (Disinfo App Lab or DAL), a non-profit initiative, led by the Digital Innovation foundation (DIF), chaired by Stéphane Gagnon, Associate Professor of Business Technology Management at University of Québec. The team focuses on Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications, especially LLMs augmented by Knowledge Graphs (KG) and Semantic Rules (SR), to help detect and monitor disinformation against politicians.
