How fixed are our opinions, really? And what happens when we try to see things from another point of view?

In this session, we’ll use dialogue, role-play and shifting viewpoints to explore how ideas change when spoken aloud, challenged by others and seen from different perspectives.

We often treat opinions as settled possessions: my view, my position, my way of seeing things. But in conversation, thought can become more fluid and surprising.

Working in pairs and small groups, participants will continue fragments of dialogue from different viewpoints, intentions or roles, sometimes adapting as the exchange shifts. The aim is not to perform or find the “right” answer, but to notice how meaning changes when we think through another voice.

The session is based on the idea that lateral thinking can emerge through dialogue, when different assumptions, motives and ways of seeing the world rub against each other.

No acting, writing or specialist experience is needed — only curiosity about creativity, communication and perspective-taking.
