Details

Join us for a fulfilling evening at Disruptive Tech London, stomach and mind!

We're bringing together experts to dive deep into the latest trends and technology, providing valuable knowledge every second Wednesday of every month.

With the latest worldwide outage from Crowdstrike, this is an ideal meetup to learn how to mitigate the risks of a compromising outage and resolve a situation if one occurs. Talks following the process from tracking to find the problem, rolling out a fix, security, and prevention.

While you learn and network, don't forget to treat yourself to some delicious food. It's the perfect blend of learning, great food, and connecting with fellow tech enthusiasts.

Information on the Speakers:
Kyle Johnson - is a Flagsmith CoFounder and Lead Front End Developer. He also works as as the lead front end/mobile developer for a development agency. He's developed and built a huge number of projects ranging from cross-platform web and mobile applications to IoT foo bars. He works closely with customers to build and design with their needs in mind.

Alex Olivier - is the CPO and Co-founder at Cerbos. As an engineer, consultant, tech lead, and product manager, he has designed enterprise solutions from the ground up, always with an eye on the developer experience. At Microsoft, Qubit, and a myriad of startups, he designed platforms that helped teams move faster at scale, with a focus on core components like authorization, data management, and security.

Philipp Lengauer - holds a doctorate from the Kepler University in Linz, focusing on performance monitoring of Java applications. He worked as a developer on the Dynatrace OneAgent for many years and now leads the OneAgent capability at Dynatrace.

Information on the talks:
Talk 1 - Dynatrace's OneAgent is a component that is installed and injected into millions of customer processes every day. It changes customer code on the fly, hooks into the kernel, redirects symbols, and more to successfully observe and protect customer environments for almost 20 years. This talk will show how Dynatrace develops the OneAgent safely, how we learn along the way, and some close calls we had over the years.

Talk 2 - In the simplest form, feature flags mitigate risk when something goes wrong; rolling back code with the click of a button without needing to redeploy. When releasing critical software, you can also set flags up to enable canary releases or progressive rollouts to release code initially to just a small percentage of your users. This talk will cover releasing safely and lowering risk with feature flags, with a live demo of feature flagging and sending flag data to Dynatrace to monitor impact.

Talk 3 - Explore the parallels between aviation safety practices and modern application security. Learn how the Swiss Cheese Model and demonstrate how a practical Zero Trust Architecture can enhance your security posture through a layered defense strategy.
