Making AI Work in the Real World

Details

Please join SageCor Solutions for an exclusive session with Jacob Renn, PhD, former Department of Defense Data Scientist and Co-Founder of AI Squared. A recent MIT study found that 95% of enterprise AI projects don’t deliver results. With all the hype around GPUs, big models, and storage, it can be confusing to know what really matters.

In this talk, Dr. Renn will break things down in plain language and move beyond the typical conversations around GPUs and storage to provide a holistic view of the AI technology stack. He will focus on human-machine teaming, workflow integration, model governance, and other critical enablers that help determine whether AI delivers real enterprise impact. We will also explore some of the often-overlooked dimensions of AI infrastructure. Dr. Renn will draw on his experiences as a practitioner at the DOD and as a founding member of a venture-backed AI startup.

Whether you’re just getting started with AI or already exploring it in your work, you’ll walk away with:

✅ A clearer picture of the AI technology stack (beyond buzzwords)
✅ Practical insights on how organizations can actually benefit from AI
✅ A chance to connect with other professionals who are exploring this fast-moving field

Please note our location at Dave and Buster's in Arundel Mills Mall. We have booked a private event room with lots of great appetizers!

Speaker BIO:

Jacob Renn, PhD, is the Co-Founder and Chief Data Scientist at AI Squared, a startup helping organizations bring artificial intelligence into everyday business applications. At AI Squared, he helps lead the development of the company's AI capabilities. Jacob got his start as a data scientist at the Department of Defense, where he worked on natural language processing research — including some of the earliest experiments with transformer-based models, the technology foundational to modern day LLMs. He later joined Microsoft Federal, building and scaling machine learning solutions to support U.S. government missions. In 2021, he co-founded AI Squared, combining his background in research and applied AI with a drive to make these technologies more accessible. He holds a BS in Mathematics and an MS in Business Analytics from the University of Maryland, and earned his PhD in Technology from Capitol Technology University, where his research focused on explainable AI.
