Major Taylor Birthday Ride

Details
Join DCC for a real “Black Friday” as we celebrate Major Taylor’s Birthday with a 17-25 mile ride around DC paying homage to some of our black historic landmarks.
We will meet at Conte’s Bike Shop for coffee and snacks at 9:30. Roll out is 10am.
For those driving, there is a paid lot adjacent to Conte’s, however, ample parking is available at Anacostia Park which is very close to Conte’s.
Some of our stops will include:
Frederick Douglass House
Josh Gibson Statue
MLK Memorial
African-American Museum
Statue of Nelson Mandela
African-American Civil War Statue
Carter G Woodson Park
Mary McLeod Bethune Statue
This will be a sightseeing ride suitable for those capable of riding 30 Miles. Includes some hills (approximately 700-900 ft elevation total).
Great way to explore the city, and see some hidden treasures.
All riders are required to bring their own PPE, water, and bike repair equipment.
*** Participation is solely at the risk of each rider! DCC excepts no responsibility for any injuries or damage to equipment.
Route will be posted in the next few days after we scout it.
