Major Taylor Birthday Ride

Details

Join area Major Taylor Cycling Clubs as we celebrate Major Taylor’s Birthday with a 17-25 mile ride around DC paying homage to some of our black historic landmarks.

We will meet at Conte’s Bike Shop for coffee and snacks at 9:30. Roll out is 10am.

For those driving, there is a paid lot adjacent to Conte’s, however, ample parking is available at Anacostia Park which is very close to Conte’s.

Some of our stops:
Statue of Nelson Mandela
African-American Civil War Statue
Carter G Woodson Park
Mary McLeod Bethune Statue

This will be a sightseeing ride suitable for those capable of riding 25 Miles. Includes some hills (approximately 700-900 ft elevation total).

Great way to explore the city, and see some hidden treasures.

All riders are required to bring their own PPE, water, and bike repair equipment.

*** Participation is solely at the risk of each rider! DCC accepts no responsibility for any injuries or damage to equipment.
