The Africa Fintech Summit (AFTS) is Africa’s leading platform for fintech leaders, regulators, investors, and innovators. Since 2017, AFTS has hosted impactful summits in Washington DC, Lagos, Addis Ababa, Cairo, Cape Town, and Lusaka.
AFTS drives sustainable economic growth and financial inclusion by engaging regulators, attracting investors, and supporting startups. Annual flagship events occur every April in Washington DC and every November in an African city, contributing over $300 million USD in venture investment and fostering fintech expansion.
In 2023, AFTS welcomed 1,200+ delegates from 65+ countries, launching USAID’s Tech for Trade Alliance, supporting AWS’ Fintech Startup Loft Accelerator, and highlighting Zambia’s first smartphone factory. The Alpha Expo Pitch Competition showcased 16 startups in Lusaka.
In 2024, AFTS Nairobi hosted 1,500+ delegates and 1,800 virtual attendees from 50+ countries, featuring 15 panels and the AlphaExpo Pitch Competition with 18 startups. The Washington DC event included a pitch competition and networking at Halcyon House during the WB/IMF Spring Meetings.
On October 8th 2025, we will return to Africa with the 14th edition of the Africa Fintech Summit in Accra, Ghana hosted at the Accra International Conference Centre. This edition will build on past successes, bringing together key stakeholders to shape the future of fintech across the continent.
