What we’re about

Spiritual Veganism Meetup

Intention:
Our goal is to foster a supportive and inclusive community where we experience a higher taste by blending authentic spirituality, self-improvement, sattvic vegan/vegetarian diet and vulnerable connection.

We will embark on a mystical spiritual journey, to self-awareness, self-acceptance, self-love, spiritual awakening and ultimately Divine Love. While simultaneously feasting on scrumptious vegan food, singing, dancing, opening our minds, expanding our hearts and evolving our souls.

Invitation:
Join us for an evening of spiritual connection and conscious living as we come together to celebrate the Spiritual Veganism community.
Whether you are curious, a seeker, a beginner, a chef or an experienced yogi, this gathering welcomes all who seek to nourish their mind, body, and soul. Come and join us in experiencing the joy and blessings of conscious living.

We meet one week in-person and one week online:

Meat, fish, eggs and animal products may not be brought or used in any preparations). Thank you for your consideration and respect.

Activities:

  • Meditation and Kirtan: we will begin with mantra meditation followed by an uplifting kirtan session, invoking divine presence through devotional chanting. Immerse yourself in the captivating melodies and experience the blissful serenity of Divine Love. Sing, dance and if you play an instrument please bring it with you.
  • Feasting: next, we will share a delicious vegan potluck feast, showcasing the abundance and variety of flavors in a compassionate plant-based lifestyle. During this time you can socialize and connect with like-minded individuals, exchange recipes and personal experiences.
  • Learning: we will then learn about how the vegan/vegetarian lifestyle supports our spirituality, mental and emotional states, feelings of happiness, connection, and inner peace. We will also read from and discuss various authentic spiritual teachings from Hinduism, Vedanta, Shaivism, Bhakti Yoga, Buddhism, Christianity, Sufism etc.
  • Exercises: we will explore various meditation practices (mindfulness, AUM, deep breathing, mantra meditation etc), soul gazing, heart chakra opening etc so that you have something to take away and practice at home.

PS: All spiritual and religious faiths are welcome. We, the organizers, have a special love for Sanatan Dharma (Hinduism) especially around Bhakti Yoga or Divine Love. However, we believe in creating synthesis and harmony between all faiths around the central theme of love - love for God/Divine/Universe; love for all people of all races, religions and nationalities; love for Mother Earth and all creatures; and love for ourselves.

Contribution: (a) for our in-person meetings we request a small voluntary donation to help with costs (b) we would be thrilled if you would bring an offering of love - a vegan dish that you made. You may use our facilities to warm or cool what you have brought but it must be cooked in advance.

Facilitators: Joan and Rohit. Joan is a brilliant vegan cook and Rohit is a spiritual director/counselor/mentor and the author of “Loving Soulfully” and a YouTube Podcaster host at "Spiritual Wisdom Academy."
