Queer Harmonies: Beginner Guitar Lessons

- Meet us in the loft on the 3rd floor. Go up the stairs right inside the entrance, then go down the hall of the 2nd floor and you'll find a 2nd staircase leading up to the loft.

This is for anyone who's ready to pick up a guitar, dust off an old one, or just explore the joy of music in a supportive, gender affirming, and fun community? This is an introduction to the guitar as well as a chance for connecting with fellow LGBTQIA+ Wanderers who are building their chosen family, or as I like to call them, shovel friends. You know, the kind of friends where you could show up at their door in the middle of the night with a dead body, and with no hesitation they'd look at you and say, "I'll get the shovels." This is a space where your authentic self is celebrated, and genuine connection thrives.

Nonbinary myself, I'll be leading the class. I've been helping people discover the joy of music for over a decade now. I'm committed to creating a truly gender-affirming space where your authentic self is celebrated.

This group is all about learning at your own pace, with zero pressure and plenty of encouragement. Each session builds a little more skill, but more importantly, it builds genuine connection. You’ll leave not just playing your first full song, but also with a few new shovel friends to share the journey with. Experienced guitarists are also welcome to join, help out, and bring some creative energy to our jam at the end!

Bring your acoustic guitar (or an electric with a small amp) and an open mind. We’ll end with a casual jam session where everyone can join in.
