18-Hour MIG Welding Course

Details

Explore the world of MIG Welding as you industry standard weld joints, how to adjust welder settings, and troubleshoot improper welds. You will leave this 18-hour class with a portfolio of the welding techniques you can apply to a wide range of projects. Students will also be introduced to the machinery available in the metal shop and learn how to identify, select, and work with the proper metal for their job. In the first project, students will design and create their own welded metal sculpture under the guidance of an experienced instructor. The second project, the cube knot, is a challenging manufacturing project that requires coping square joints, fixturing, tack welding, finish welding, and surface cleanup. The third is a thin wall tube ladder where you cope with all the tubes on our tube notcher and then experience the challenge of welding complex tube structures.
