Details
Want to use the lab but don't know where to start? Don't worry, we have you covered! We're rolling out a new series of 101s aimed at equipping you with all the skills you need to conduct your own experiments.
This month you'll learn a power technique to amplify DNA called PCR. Then we'll visualize this tiny, but mighty, molecule using Gel Electrophoresis. These techniques are essentials skills for anyone interested in DIY molecular biology.
In addition to learning the concepts, you'll get training on the following equipment:
- Micropipettes
- Thermocycler
- Gel Box + Power Supply
Ages: 16 years old - adult
Max number of students in the class: 6
Cost:
= $10 for non-members of Decatur Makers (for more info and to join, click here (https://decaturmakers.org/membership/))
= FREE for members of Decatur Makers (please pay here, and you will be reimbursed after the class if you attend. No-shows won't be reimbursed unless they change their RSVPs to Not Going at least 2 days beforehand)
