Two Talks: Jupiter Notebook with Django, Multiple Databases in Django
Details
Brian Rutledge: Using Jupyter Notebook with Django
The Jupyter Notebook is an open-source web application that combines living code, visualizations, and text into shareable documents. It is an excellent tool for exploratory programming and data analysis. This talk will provide an overview of the features of the Notebook, show how to run it in a Django project, and demonstrate some basic data analysis and visualization using the Pandas library.
About the speaker:
Brian Rutledge is a developer at EnergySage (http://www.energysage.com/), a Boston startup that uses Django to power an online marketplace for solar panel installation.
Ryan Scott: Configuring Multiple Databases in Django
Using Django with a single database is easy and well documented, but adding multiple databases can be complicated. This talk will address the various techniques for implementing multiple databases within Django. It will also include best practices and lessons learned from adding a second database to a production application.
About the speaker:
Ryan Scott is a Software Engineer who currently spends most of time working with Python and Django. He works at Percipient Networks, the company that is building Strongarm, a security product for SMBs.
