What we’re about
This group is for feminine Black lesbians, bisexual women, and any other non-heterosexual women who love, date, and are attracted to other feminine Black lesbians, bisexual, and other non-heterosexual women (aka Black Fem 4 Fem). I envision this group as a safe space for feminine Black women who date other feminine Black women because we are often inadvertently excluded from events for Black queer women because we do not ascribe to the stud/femme dynamic. This can leave us without a sense of home, community, or even a way to self-actualize. It can leave us lonely.
I hope to provide Black Fem 4 Fem lesbians, bisexual, and non-heterosexual women age 30 and up with events to network, make friends, and meet their future girlfriends and wives. This group is for mature, professional, career-minded women who want an alternative to the Black LGBTQ+ party scene and want other ways to socialize.
Social activities range from art openings, brunches, plays, movies, poetry readings, yoga, dinner parties, book clubs, after-work drinks, outdoor adventures, wine tastings, art galleries, open mic nights, Black LGBTQ+ Pride Meetups, and art shows.
This group is also a space where trans women are welcomed and celebrated.
CRITERIA: As criteria for membership, all applicants must include a headshot that clearly includes their faces in their profile pictures. Profiles with avatars, non-human subjects, cartoons, or photos that in any way, shape, or form, obscure members' faces will be rejected. Profiles should include members' faces in order to ensure that their profiles are legitimate in order to ensure members' safety. Profiles that do not meet this criteria will be rejected. Thank you for your interest and we look forward to meeting you soon.
Sincerely,
Your meetup organizers

Description from Arena Stage's Website:
W. Tre and Free met in a dark park searching for fun not expecting to find love, light, and each other. Now a milestone anniversary has got them wondering if they have met Mr. Right or a long one-night stand with a lovely Mr. Maybe? With a little support and a lot of confusion from family, friends, and a stranger in the dark, the question remains: will W. Tre and Free find their way together or will they let fear, and a secret lead them asunder?
Amplifying the celebration of Oscar winner Tarell Alvin McCraney’s newest play is the Love Takes Center Stage immersive experience that will offer couples a once-in-a-lifetime chance to exchange their own marriage vows under the spotlight—right on stage during select performances
Support for We Are Gathered is provided by Deborah Bowles and Derik Burgess, Anthony Coley, Kristen Donoghue and Jon Hacker, and Nicholas Goad.
