Peach Garden Trip

Details

Peace to everyone,
Originally, the fellowship planned to go peach picking on Saturday, July 26, but due to a spring freeze this year, the peach harvest was poor and the orchard has no peaches for picking. :-( Therefore, we have changed the activity to visit Leesylvania State Park, which we had originally planned to go to at the end of May but was canceled due to rain. Below is the event announcement — please bring your whole family to enjoy the outdoors and get to know each other better in nature. Everyone is also encouraged to invite friends — the more, the merrier!

Leesylvania State Park is a picturesque state park located in Prince William County, VA, situated along the tidal Potomac River, about 25 miles from Washington, D.C. The park covers about 556 acres, with rich natural scenery and historic sites, making it an ideal place for hiking, wildlife observation, fishing, and boating.

  • Meeting place: Leesylvania State Park (2001 Daniel K Ludwig Dr, Woodbridge, VA 22191), at the picnic tables on the grass next to Picnic Shelter 1 (marked with a yellow dashed circle on the map)
  • Parking: Visitor parking lots (inside the area marked with red dashed circles on the map)
  • Time: Saturday, July 26, 2025, 10:00 AM
  • Cost: $10 per vehicle (free if you have a state park annual pass)
  • Food: Bring your own
  • Schedule:
  • 10:15–11:15: Games, sharing, and songs (Gospel sharing; songs: Heavenly Father’s Garden, My God, My Father, My Rock)
  • 11:15–12:30: Lunch and fellowship
  • 12:30–onward: Hiking, playing at the beach, chatting, and enjoying the outdoors
  • Reminders:
  • Please arrive on time, because the park has a visitor limit and will stop admitting people once it reaches capacity.
  • Bring enough water, and take sun and mosquito protection measures.
  • Wear appropriate clothing for playing in the water; please bring swimsuits, sand toys, towels, etc. for the kids (it’s said you can even dig up clams!); each parent is responsible for their own children’s safety while playing in the water.
