This is a scenic waterfront trail with great views and many landmarks. The trail begins a short distance from the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, making its way across the Ohio Drive Bridge and heading into East Potomac Park.
The tidal basin is beautifully reflective, and the monuments around the whole trail keep it interesting. Parking is available near the trailhead, and additional facilities, including restrooms and drinking fountains, can be found along the trail.
The sidewalks along the water are prone to damage and there is often uneven footing.
